"Manchester United Secures Mason Mount in Landmark Transfer Deal with Chelsea"

According to sources, Manchester United and Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement for the transfer of Mason Mount. It is said that United will pay an initial fee of £55 million ($69.4m), along with an additional £5 million ($6.3m) in potential add-ons. The bonuses that Chelsea will receive are believed to be contingent on Mount's appearances and performance at Old Trafford.

With Mason Mount currently on vacation, his medical examination with Manchester United is scheduled to take place during the upcoming week, as per the sources. After Chelsea initially demanded £70 million for the England international, the two clubs have now found a compromise. United's previous bids of £40 million, £50 million, and £55 million had been turned down by Chelsea.

Mason Mount, aged 24, was heading into the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, and talks regarding a new deal had collapsed. If he had stayed with Chelsea, he would have been able to leave as a free agent next summer. This transfer marks manager Erik ten Hag's first signing of the summer for Manchester United.

During his time at Chelsea, Mount made a total of 195 appearances for his childhood club, and he was a key member of the team that secured the Champions League title under Thomas Tuchel in 2021. Mount has already agreed to personal terms with United and is set to undergo a medical examination shortly. Following that, he will join Ten Hag's squad for their preseason tour in the United States, commencing in New York on July 20.

There is a possibility that Mason Mount could make his debut for Manchester United in a friendly match against Leeds United in Oslo on July 12.
